Host families are a critical component to the Foundation’s operations. Host families house
a child and one parent or guardian. One bedroom is usually sufficient to house them. The
parent or guardian supervises the child at all times so the host family does not need to be
available during the day. The child usually arrives a week before surgery, spends a week in
the hospital, and then returns to the host family for one to two weeks. The host family can
be as active as they wish with the child and the process.
If you are interested in becoming a host family, an experience that will certainly transform
your lives, or would like to speak with our current host families, please call Carolyn Spector,
Executive Director at 800.293.0370 for further information.
Potential host families must agree to an interview and background check.
